By cognitive we mean all mental operations involved in the receiving, storing and processing of information through thought, experience and the senses to create knowledge.

Vision is our primary medium for thought. Through the perception of sight we start to access our cognitive operations, which leads us to active exploration; selection; simplification; abstraction and problem solving to name but a few.
