Use Scribing In Your Events
Illustrating your great conversations is our passion
Conferences, plenaries, big meetings - they can be exciting places. New ideas are unleashed and grand plans are created. Best of all, people come together, combining their knowledge, insights and experience. As in-person events return, make the most of these ideas and the contributions of participants by using Scribing!
Scribing captures ideas, information and discussions in illustrations which crystalise and connect them. Scribing generates engagement and participation, organises and distills information, improves creative thinking in a group and acts as visual minutes.
When you use Scribing at your events, you don’t just get exciting, productive and memorable events. You also get:
the physical illustrations to keep
a digitisied version of the Scribing capture
the option to turn illustrations from the visual capture into assets for comms and social media
the option to create a capture document, which combines the visual capture with a written summary of the event

Work with our founder, Scribing expert and creator of the RSA Animates - Andrew Park
When we Scribe at your events, you are very likely to work with our founder Andrew Park. Andrew is an experienced Scribe and visual thinking pro. His find leaps between cultural and historic references to visual metaphors which frame complex ideas in the perfect relatable form.
At your talks, conferences, plenaries and events, Andrew will bring all this visual thinking and more, as he maps discussion and flow in engaging and memorable illustrations. We’ve included some examples of Andrew’s work here to show you his visual thinking in action.
Sir Ken Robinson
Andrew had the honour of working with Sir Ken several times and miss him greatly. This animation serves as a sequel to the RSA Animate they made together, and in it, Sir Ken explores how we treat education and our connection with the natural world. As we return to normal, Sir Ken asks us what normal do we want to return to?
Talk To The Hand
Talk To The Hand was created by Andrew Park. In this series, Andrew interviews the people behind the ideas that shape our world. Andrew brings those ideas and concepts into sharp focus through illustration and animation. The first episode was with Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation and former CEO of the RSA.
The RSA Animates
When creating the RSA Animates, Andrew combined the visual thinking of Scribing with animation and helped to pioneer whiteboard animation. The series included some of the greatest minds of our time, including Steven Pinker, Carol Dweck and this RSA Animate featuring author and speechwriter Dan Pink.
Professor Stephen Hawking
Visual thinking can tackle topics ranging from the every day to the complex and highly abstract. Andrew did just this, working with Professor Hawking to explain and share his theory about black holes and supertranslations.

Sharing your message with whiteboard animation
Whiteboard animation was born from Scribing. Whiteboard animation combines:
a strong narrative and script
rich illustrations
engaging animation
clarifying onscreen text
a guiding voiceover
Whiteboard animations can make complex subjects feel simple and the detail heavy topics feel entertaining. Each animation is tailored to you, your message and your audience, allowing you connect with your audience and capture the essence of your brand.
After the success of the RSA Animates, we wanted to investigate how people responded to whiteboard animations. Working with Professor Richard Wiseman, we compared a ‘talking head’ video with a whiteboard animation that used the same voiceover. Together, we found that the whiteboard animation:
was 66% more likely to be shared
resulted in a 15% increase in information retention
was rated 33% more entertaining
Of course, we couldn’t resist animating our findings in this video. Whether you’d like to take your event to the next level through Scribing or share a message far and wide with whiteboard animation, we’d love to talk to you and answer any questions. Book a free creative consultation with us today!
